"App keeps freezing and it’s honestly frustrating"
I really wanted this app to work, but it keeps freezing on me and it’s been irritating. Every time I try to use it, something gets stuck or stops responding, so it barely feels usable right now

"I had a really hard time..."
I had a really hard time trying to cancel, and the whole process ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. It felt like they made it unnecessarily difficult, which left a bad impression on me. Personally, I wouldn’t want to deal with it again.

"and it just didn’t make organizing any easier"
i really wanted Neat to help me get my receipts and documents under control, but it ended up making the whole process feel more cluttered than before.
The folders and tags weren’t as simple as I expected, and trying to find older files took way too much clicking around. It might work fine for someone else, but for me, it was frustrating.

"Pretty easy, but not perfect"
I mostly use Neat to keep all my receipts and invoices from ending up all over the place. It was easy to get the hang of, and after poking around a couple times, I knew where most things were.
The scanning and sorting work fine for the most part, but I don’t know why some simple fixes still take a few extra clicks. A couple of the screens also feel a little crowded, so I find myself slowing down more than I expected.
Overall, it’s easy enough for basic stuff and it does what I need it to do. I just wish it felt a bit smoother, because I still get annoyed with it here and there

"Good overall, but the app can be a bit glitchy"
It works fine for the most part and I’m able to use it without too much trouble. The only issue is that the web app crashes sometimes, which can get a little frustrating when I’m in the middle of something. Overall, it’s usable, but I’d feel a lot better about it if it were more stable

"I tried using Neat, but i probably don’t..."
I tried using Neat, but i probably don’t have the patience for tools that take a while to figure out. It just felt clunky to me, and with my schedule already being a mess, I didn’t want to spend extra time fighting with it. In the end, it felt like more trouble than it was worth.

"Half the time I try to open..."
Half the time I try to open my stuff, it just sits there loading or throws an error. It’s especially annoying when I’m standing there trying to pull up a receipt quickly, and even a small PDF won’t open. Really frustrating.

"Getting set up was honestly such a pain"
I tried getting started with Neat, the whole onboarding process was confusing right from the beginning. Like, the steps they showed didn’t really match what I was seeing on my end, so I kept second-guessing what I was supposed to do. Support took a while to respond too, and I just kept getting stuck over and over. I mean, if setup is this messy, it really doesn’t feel worth the time.

"Receipt scanning felt too unreliable for me"
I tried using Neat to keep track of my receipts, but the scanning accuracy was disappointing. It kept mixing up dates, totals, and even store names, so I ended up correcting almost every receipt myself. That kind of made me nervous, because if I’m relying on it for expenses or records, I need to trust the numbers are right. Even some receipts that were clear and easy to read still came through wrong. Maybe other people have better luck with it, but for me it felt like a time sink and not something I’d feel comfortable paying for with accuracy this shaky.

"Feels like it was released before it was ready"
I expected more. The app feels unfinished, and there are a lot of basic features missing that I assumed would be included from the start. It’s frustrating to run into so many gaps, and at this point I think an apology or some acknowledgment from the team would be fair.
"Uploads feel painfully slow compared to other apps"
I tried using Neat to keep track of my receipts, but the upload speed has been really frustrating. I’ll add a receipt, wait around, refresh a few times, and the sync still seems to be lagging behind. I’ve used other receipt and expense apps that process uploads much faster, so this feels clunky in comparison. For something as basic as saving receipts, it’s just not worth the headache for me.

"I tried using it for a bit..."
I tried using it for a bit, but the privacy stuff made me nervous. It felt like there was a lot of personal info involved, and I couldn’t really tell how it was being stored or shared. I ended up closing my account because it just wasn’t worth the stress for me
"I’ve been really frustrated with the bank..."
I’ve been really frustrated with the bank and credit card syncing. It keeps disconnecting, so I reconnect everything, it works for maybe a day, and then it breaks all over again. Support keeps sending me the same basic troubleshooting steps, but no one really explains what I’m supposed to do next if those don’t work. It feels like I’m stuck in a loop with no clear path forward. it’s been annoying enough that I’m questioning whether it’s even worth using.

"Expense sorting helps, but I still have to babysit it"
Neat.com is okay for sorting expenses, like it definitely does some of the work for me, which is nice, but I still find myself going back in and fixing things more than I expected. Some receipts end up in categories that don’t really make sense to me, or just not where I personally would’ve put them, and then I’m sitting there second-guessing whether I should leave it or move it. So yeah, it saves some time, just not quite the magical set-it-and-forget-it thing I was hoping for. It’s not bad at all, just kind of fine.

"Accounting sync just wouldn’t work..."
I tried connecting my accounting software, but it just kept failing over and over. Support sent me the usual basic steps, but... none of it actually fixed the problem. I ended up wasting pretty much the whole afternoon trying to get it to work.

"Exporting my data turned into a headache"
I tried getting my stuff out of Neat it was a lot more annoying than I expected. Some details were missing from the export, my folders didn’t really come over the way they were supposed to, and I ended up having to go back through everything manually just to make sure nothing important was off. Support didn’t really give me much to work with either. If you actually need your data back in a clean way, I don’t know, it just felt way harder than it should’ve been...

"Subscription just feels too expensive now"
It used to be fine for what I needed, but the subscription price just feels way too high now. I don’t even use half the features, so paying every month, just for basic document stuff, is hard to justify. I ended up cancelling, and I’m moving on to something else...

"My old Neat scanner won’t work anymore..."
My old Neat scanner won’t work anymore because it’s apparently not supported now. I spent about an hour messing with drivers and trying to get it going, but nothing worked. it’s frustrating and feels like a waste when the scanner itself is still fine

"Support took way too long"
I was just worn out by the whole support process. I reached out expecting some help, but it took so long to get a response that by the time someone finally got back to me, it felt way too late. I get that teams get busy, but having to wait around and keep checking for updates was really frustrating.

"I really regret counting on support to..."
I really regret counting on support to fix my account. I emailed them twice and waited for days, but all I got back were generic canned replies that didn’t actually help. It was frustrating, especially when I just needed someone to take the issue seriously.
